🎉 7 Wooly Wonders Contest – Fall 2026

Preorders open: June 19th - July 5th
Boxes ready for pickup/shipping: July 31st
Finished projects due back: September 27th
Voting: October 2nd - 4th (during our Anniversary Celebration!)

What is the 7 Wooly Wonders Contest?

You’re getting 7 colors of DK weight yarn… and 8 weeks to create whatever your heart desires.

Your box will include approximately 984 yards of DK-weight yarn:
🧶 One 100g skein (246 yards)
🧶 Six 50g skeins (123 yards each)

Planning a larger project? Additional skeins will be available while supplies last.

Yarn is hand dyed by Sunshine Queen Fiber Arts on her “Jasmine DK” base. 
Jasmine DK:
80% SW Extra Fine Merino, 10% Cashmere, 10% Nylon
DK, 246 yds/100g, 4-ply

Yarn is dyed with professional acid dyes. While every effort is made to rinse any extra dye out, some bleeding may occur, so it is recommended to wash separately for the first wash or two. We recommend washing in cool water with a rinse-free wash, such as Eucalan, and laying flat to dry.

Yarn is photographed in natural light to show the color as accurately as possible. However, variations in screens can cause slight differences in appearance.

No project restrictions. No size limits. Only rule: you must use at least a little bit of all 7 colors.

You can knit, crochet, weave, or do something completely unexpected—as long as you use every color from your box.

Whether this is your first garment or your fiftieth, the goal is to have fun, challenge yourself, and see what seven colors can become.

How It Works:

1. Preorder your box by July 5th.
2. Pick up (or get it shipped) starting July 31st.
3. Make something amazing! You’ll have 8 weeks to create.
4. Bring (or ship) your finished piece back to Warm & Wooly by September 27th. Full project details and submission instructions will be provided with your box.

5. We'll put all the projects on display during our Anniversary Weekend (October 2–4) and let our customers vote for the category awards.

   Best in Show will be selected separately by the Warm & Wooly team.

🏆 Contest Categories

All finished projects submitted for voting will be eligible for the following awards:

Best Wearable
Awarded to the wearable project that voters would most love to wear themselves. Sweaters, cardigans, shawls, tees, accessories, and other wearable items are eligible.

Best Non-Wearable
Awarded to the best project designed for the home, display, gifting, or everyday use. Blankets, bags, baskets, toys, wall art, home décor, and other non-wearable items are eligible.

Best Craftsmanship
Awarded to the project that demonstrates exceptional skill, attention to detail, finishing, and overall execution.

Best in Show
Selected by the Warm & Wooly team, this award recognizes the project that best embodies the spirit, creativity, and overall excellence of the 7 Wooly Wonders Challenge.

Best in Show is selected separately from the voting categories. If the Best in Show winner also places in another category, that category award will be given to the next highest-voted project.

Best in Show is selected separately from the voting categories. If the Best in Show winner also places in another category, that category award will be given to the next highest-voted project, allowing more participants to be recognized for their work.

A Few Notes:

• This is a limited-edition colorway created exclusively for the 2026 7 Wooly Wonders Challenge. Once preorders close, the colorway will not be reproduced.
• Projects must primarily use the yarn from your box (you’re welcome to add notions, embellishments, other yarn or extra materials as long as the box yarn is the star).
  • You don't need to use every yard of yarn in the box, just make sure all 7 colors appear somewhere!
  • Extra skeins will be available if you're planning a larger project.
• Local pickup or shipping available.
