Fall Cardigan Make-Along 

Pick your craft. Pick your cardigan. Pick your yarn. We'll take care of the rest.

Join us this fall for eight weeks of cardigan making! Whether you knit, crochet, or Tunisian crochet, we've chosen a beautiful cardigan pattern and three DK-weight yarn options so you can build a package that works for you.

Your package includes your full sweater quantity of yarn, cardigan pattern, printed pattern copy, exclusive Cardigan MAL project bag, access to our private Facebook group and Zoom meetups, and eligibility for finisher prizes.

The Fall Cardigan MAL runs September 27–November 22, giving you eight weeks to finish your cardigan just in time for Thanksgiving!

KNIT — Portage by Melissa Schaschwary
A cozy, open-front cardigan featuring beautiful textured cables, generous pockets, and a relaxed silhouette.

CROCHET — Southern Sunset Cardigan by Jennifer Lovett
A long, relaxed cardigan featuring a beautiful star-stitch texture, drop sleeves, and customizable sleeve options.

TUNISIAN CROCHET — Rowyn Cardigan
A relaxed-fit Tunisian crochet cardigan designed with approximately 3–5" of positive ease. We've been working closely with the designer, and Rowyn will be officially published before the MAL begins!

Choose Your Yarn

Choose from three of our favorite DK-weight yarns:

Malabrigo Dos Tierras
A beautifully soft, hand-dyed blend with Malabrigo's signature colorways.

Kelbourne Woolens Scout
A classic, versatile wool with a huge selection of colors.

Katia Cotton-Merino
A lightweight cotton/wool blend and the yarn we used for our Southern Sunset shop sample!

Color charts are included in this listing. Enter the color number from the chart in the First Choice Color field. You may also provide an optional second choice.

Colors are subject to vendor availability and are available first come, first served. We are monitoring supplier inventory throughout the preorder period, but availability can change before we place an order. If neither your first nor second choice is available, we will contact you before substituting another color.

Crochet — Southern Sunset

Southern Sunset is designed as a long, relaxed cardigan with approximately 6–8" of positive ease. Choose your finished garment measurement based on the fit you prefer.

Tunisian Crochet — Rowyn

Rowyn sizing is based on your actual bust measurement, rather than the finished garment measurement. The cardigan is designed for a relaxed fit with approximately 3–5" of positive ease.

Select the size corresponding to your actual bust measurement. If you're between sizes, size down for a closer fit or up for a more relaxed fit.

How We Calculate Your Yarn

We would much rather send you home with a little yarn left over than have you run out halfway through your cardigan!

Yarn quantities are based on the pattern designer's published yardage for your selected size. We divide that yardage by the yardage of your chosen yarn and round up to the next full skein or ball.

Your actual yarn usage can vary based on gauge, individual crochet/knitting tension, modifications, sleeve and body length, and other factors. This means you may have yarn remaining when your cardigan is finished. Our own shop samples have sometimes used less yarn than the designer's published estimate, but we intentionally use the published yardage rather than reducing your package quantity based on our samples.

Planning modifications?

The package quantities assume you're making the cardigan substantially as written.

If you're planning to crop your cardigan, shorten the sleeves, or make another modification that significantly reduces the amount of yarn you'll use, you may want a smaller yarn package.

If you're planning to add significant body or sleeve length or make another modification that increases your yarn needs, you may want a larger yarn package.

Please remember that changing your yarn package quantity does not change the pattern size you should follow. If you're unsure what to order, talk to us before purchasing and we'll help you figure it out.

Your Pattern

Your package includes your selected cardigan pattern.

You'll receive the pattern digitally through Ravelry AND as a printed copy with your package, so you can use whichever format you prefer.

Every package also includes an exclusive Fall Cardigan MAL project bag, designed especially for this make-along!

The bag is only available with a MAL package and is included in your package price.

Join Us for 8 Weeks of Cardigan Making!

MAL Dates: September 27–November 22

We'll meet Sundays from 1–3 PM at Warm & Wooly throughout the MAL for dedicated cardigan-making time.

Package participants will also have access to our private MAL Facebook group and Zoom meetup option, so you can participate even when you can't make it to the shop.

Need help? Bring your questions, troubleshoot with the group, cheer each other on, and watch those cardigans grow week by week.

Finish & Win!

Finish your cardigan by November 22 and you'll be entered into our finisher prize drawings!

We'll randomly draw winners from eligible finishers for prizes including Warm & Wooly gift cards and yarn bundles.

To qualify for the prize drawings, you must:

• Purchase a Fall Cardigan MAL Package from Warm & Wooly

• Complete your cardigan by November 22

You are absolutely welcome to join us for the in-store MAL meetups even if you don't purchase a package—you just won't be eligible for the official MAL prizes, private Facebook group, Zoom option, or exclusive package swag.

Preorder Timeline

Preorders open August 22.

Need your package shipped? Order by September 6.
This gives us time to receive your yarn, assemble your package, and ship it to you before the MAL begins. Shipping is a flat $6.

Picking up at Warm & Wooly? Order by September 13 to have your package ready before the September 27 MAL kickoff.

We'll notify you as soon as your package is ready for pickup or has shipped.

Orders placed after these dates may still be possible depending on yarn availability, but we cannot promise they'll be ready before the MAL begins.

Please Read Before Ordering

MAL packages are specially ordered and assembled for each maker and are FINAL SALE.

Individual unused skeins or balls from your package cannot be returned or refunded. Because we use the designer's full published yardage and round up to complete skeins, it is normal to have some yarn remaining when your cardigan is finished.

Please double-check your craft, yarn, yarn package size, and color selections before ordering. If you have questions about sizing, modifications, yarn choice, or how much yarn you'll need, please contact us before placing your order.
