Weaving 101: Coasters

Weaving 101:  Coasters---THIS CLASS IS INCLUDED IN THE SUMMER CLASS PASS!  

Class Level: Beginner

Dates: Thursdays July 2nd and July 9th (July 2nd 5:00-8:00pm and July 9th 6:00-8:00pm) or
            Saturdays August 22nd and 29th (Aug 22nd 10am-1pm and Aug 29th (10am-Noon)

What you will learn:

• Set up your Rigid Heddle loom for weaving
• Weave 4 or 5 coasters
• Hemstitch your edges
• Remove and finish your coasters by fulling

Materials List

• Rigid Heddle loom with a 5” minimum weaving width
  • Rental looms available!  
• 12 dent reed
• 2 stick shuttles
• Pattern – Simple Woven Coasters from Gist yarn (Free download)
• 100 yards of any color of Gist Beam 3/2 cotton, Mallo Cotton Slub, or Duet Cotton/linen yarn
• 12 yards of a Different color of the SAME yarn
• Blunt tapestry needles
• Sharp scissors
• Note taking materials

Cost Options:

• Summer Class Pass Holders:  Class tuition is included with your Pass.  Loom Rental must be purchased separately and is not included with your Pass.
• Non-Pass Holder: $60 (bring your own supplies, see list above, or rent loom separately
