Summer Knitting: Knitting 201 - Let's Make a Hat

Knitting 201: Learn to Knit in the Round by making a hat---THIS CLASS IS INCLUDED IN THE SUMMER CLASS PASS!  

Now that you’ve mastered the basics of knitting, it’s time to take your skills full circle—literally! In this next project, you’ll learn how to knit in the round while creating a cozy hat. Along the way, you’ll also discover the technique of decreasing to shape the crown. Choose a playful worsted-weight yarn and get ready to make a hat bursting with personality and color!

Class Details:

• When:
  • Thursdays - July 23rd and 30th from 6-8pm

• What you’ll learn:
  • How to cast on in the round
  • How to knit in the round
  • How to decrease for the crown

• What you’ll need:
  • Pattern "My Baker's Hat" by eM Knits (provided at the first class)
    
  • 200 yards of worsted weight yarn (1 skein of Cantata or Cantata Hand Paints, Rios, 220 Superwash Hand Paints will all make a colorful fun hat)
  • Size US 6 circular needles (16" cable)
  • Size US 6 DPNs (double pointed needles)
  • stitch markers
  • tapestry needle

Before taking this class, you should know how to knit, purl, and cast on
